Meeting the Good Samaritan

goodsamaritanIt was last September 28, 2014, when I finally received information from the Sec. of the Office of the Prime Minister, of Bahrain that His Royal Highness Sheikh KhalifaBin Salman al Khalifa is coming to the Philippines for a state and official visit to Malacañang Palace.

I asked the Secretary if I could have the opportunity to personally see the Prime Minister to thank him for everything he has shared to our school. She answered “yes”, congratulations Ms. Sarah you can fly to Manila and meet the Prime Minister Khalifa. “Bring with you your family” the secretary added. I brought along my two daughters: Mitzi Faye and Mae Friah.

On October 1, we arrived at NAIA and we were advised by Mr. Ralph Stephen M. Calderon, a special envoy of the Philippines to Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) member states, office of the President to proceed to Shangri-La, Makati.

The First Flag Ceremony in the New Division Office of DepEd Malaybalay

The sun was shining, the sky was painted with the perfect hue of blue, and the flag was swaying gracefully as the employees lined up in front of the new building to hold the first flag raising ceremony in the new division office at Sayre Highway, Casisang, Malaybalay City on December 1 witnessed by passengers of vehicles passing by, few pedestrians, and the tall trees with their green foliage waving to welcome the occupants.

Superintendent Edilberto L. Oplenaria and the entire staff stood tall and straight as they sang with fervor the hymns for the country, the province, and the city division. Phrases from the songs seemed to create new meaning and to add another dimension to reality.

MCD conducts an Orientation on National Inventory of DepEd Public School Buildings for SY 2014-2015

schbldg2014The Department of Education–Malaybalay City Division conducted an orientation spearheaded by Planning Officer II and Division ICT Coordinator, Paul John P. Arias on November 18 at Bukidnon National High School, Brgy. 03, Malaybalay City.

The said activity is aimed to address issues regarding the completion of inventories to be submitted on or before December 12 and provide assistance to school heads, school property custodian or the physical facilities coordinator, and the PTA President or the Kagawad in charge of education in completing the inventories of DepEd public school buildings for school year (SY) 2014-2015.

Division of Malaybalay City Holds 2014 DLTSSG

dltssgThe Division of Malaybalay City holds the 2014 Division Leadership Training for the Supreme Student Government Officers (DLTSSG), with the theme: Student Government for Academic Excellence and good governance”.  This training was initiated through the efforts of the Division federation of the Supreme Student Officers and Advisers in supervision of the Division EPS in Social Studies Mr. Ralph T. Quirog. The training was also made possible in cooperation with the City Government of Malaybalay who subsidized the food and the training venue as their counterpart in order to maximize the attendance of the student leaders.

21st Century Teachers on K -12 Basic Education Program

21st century teachers1In preparation for the third year Kto12 Basic Education implementation, the Malaybalay City Division headed by Schools Division Superintendent Edilberto L. Oplenaria convened  all Grade Three teachers at Loiza’s Pavillion for the Division Mass Training last May 12 to May 16, 2014.

During the opening program, the Superintendent emphasized and requested all the participants to listen and focus on this 5-day Division Mass Training, because according to him the Department of Education spent a lot for this purpose and should be dished out to the different schools, in the poblacion or the farthest station of teachers.
